Teachers Masterclass
Art and Equality
Join artist Ciara Roche and curator Tadhg Crowley as we explore the new Glucksman toolkit for educators designed around the Glucksman project ‘A Journey I started Alone’.
In 2022, the Glucksman partnered with Good Shepherd Cork to invite people who have experienced homelessness to take part in a creative project with artist Ciara Roche. The project explored the journey of homelessness and created the space where individuals could provide the content and inspiration that would enable artist Ciara Roche to reflect their stories and create a new artwork for the University College Cork Art Collection. Ciara Riche created three paintings that represented the experiences of the community.
In this masterclass, educators will investigate ways to engage their students in artistic processes that creatively encounter, explore and understand the complex structural and personal factors that can lead to homelessness.
The new toolkit is designed for educators from Primary to Third level. This class is accredited by UCC Centre of CPD.
